Motorcyclist's condition improves

A motorcyclist who was fighting for his life after he fell of his machine at about 8.30am in Rabat has taken a turn for the better.

The 47-year-old from Fgura fell off the motorcycle in Triq Buqana, Rabat. He was rushed to hospital and declared to be in a critical condition. His condition has improved.  In another accident, a man was seriously injured in a road accident in Pembroke at 8.15am this morning. In a statement, the police said that two vehicles were involved in a head-on collision – a Rover Kensington being driven by a 29-year old and a Hyundai Accent driven by a 28-year-old, both from Fgura. There were two passengers in the Hyundai, a 21-year-old from Qormi and a 29-year-old woman from Hamrun. A paramedic team arrived at the scene. The 29-year-old suffered serious, but not life threatening injuries. The 21-year-old passenger in the Hyundai suffered slight injuries. The accident caused Triq San Andrija to be closed to traffic for some time.
