Michael Asciak is the fourth candidate to submit his name for the casual election to be held on the Eighth District to replace Tonio Borg in Parliament, who resigned to take up the post of European Commissioner.

Three Nationalist Party candidates had submitted their application on Friday. They are Josianne Cardona Gatt, Martin Fenech and Giorgio Mario Schembri.

Dr Borg vacated the seat he won on the eighth district and candidates who were not elected from that district have up to Monday to submit their application for the casual election.
