Details of tourism ministry, diving representatives meeting kept under wraps

Malta Independent Monday, 22 April 2013, 08:12 Last update: about 12 years ago

Details of talks between the Ministry of Tourism, the Malta Tourism Authority and the Professional Diving School Association have been kept under wraps by the ministry.

This newspaper asked the ministry for details of the meeting’s outcome but replied by saying it was a private meeting enabling all diving representatives to meet the minister as well as to discuss better ways of collaboration between the MTA and PDSA.

Last month, the Maltese islands were voted as the top diving spot in the Mediterranean and the third best spot on earth in an international poll organised by Diver Magazine.

The Malta Tourism Authority represented the country at an awards ceremony during the International Dive Show in London on 23 March. The MTA’s UK director, Alex Incorvaja, credited efforts to improve sea quality for the achievement.
