Twenty one year old Donna Borg Leyland, a resident of Attard, was crowned Miss World Malta 2013 at a gala event held at the Hilton Conference Centre on Saturday night. Maria Galea, placed second and Christine Mifsud was third.

The contest was organised by Modelle International under the direction of Sue Rossi and Claudia Calleja. Ms Borg Leyland will represent Malta at the Miss World final in Indonesia on 28 September.

A weekly television programme chronicling her preparations for this event will be broadcast on Net TV over the next few months.
