Commissioner of Law Franco Debono has been granted the use of the same car that was previously used by the Minister Carm Mifsud Bonnici, who he brought down with his vote in the previous legislature.

Parliamentary secretary Owen Bonnici has confirmed that Dr Debono has also been given the facility of a driver.

The perk was standard for all commissioners, Dr Bonnici said.

Dr Debono is receiving €24,000 for the job while being able to continue his legal practice.

A former Nationalist MP, Dr Debono had voted against his colleague in Parliament in May last year, forcing Dr Mifsud Bonnici to resign.
