A delegation of 16 people promoted the Maltese Islands at the 2013 JCI European Conference held in Monaco between the 29 May and 2 June with 2,700 other European delegates.

JCI Malta is a non-governmental organization forming part of a global network of young entrepreneurs and active citizens between the ages of 18-40. Following last year’s victory of the bid to host JCI European Conference in Malta between the 11 to the 14 of June 2014, an intensive promotional campaign was deployed during the 4-day-long conference with the intention of exceeding this year’s record attendance.

‘A Knightly Experience’ is the theme chosen by the Maltese organizing theme for next year’s conference.

Clayton Mercieca, the Conference Marketing Director and a JCI Member explained: “We want to portray Malta in its rightful splendor contributed by its 7,000 years of history and rich traditions blended with our strong focus on leisure and entertainment. It is our aim to deliver a conference which shall exceed everyone’s expectations making delegates want to experience Malta all over again”.

While in Monaco, the Maltese delegation hosted ‘Malta Night’ inviting all 2,700 delegates to this event with Maltese nibbles including the traditional ‘Hobza biz-Zejt’, Maltese platters and sweets.

The Minister for Tourism, Karmenu Vella said that “Government is on board on this project and we are certain that the hard work and extraordinary dedication being put forward by the organizing team will pay off with great results which all Malta will benefit at the end of the day".

An address by the Prime Minister Dr Joseph Muscat also featured in a promotional video broadcasted for the first time in Monaco to all JCI National Presidents.
