The Forum Unions Maltin welcomed the government’s intention to tackle the issue of precarious work but said more needs to be done to rectify the situation and it is prepared to give its contribution.
In a statement referring to the government’s move to cut down abuses in the public sector, it said that in spite of this good initiative workers can still be sacked without facing disciplinary procedures and some irregular contracts are still in place.
It said it will be presenting a document on the situation when the MCESD meets again on 8 July.
