PN hypocritical on use of HFO at power station – PL

Malta Independent Thursday, 4 July 2013, 10:26 Last update: about 11 years ago

The government is on track on its power station project that will bring down energy tariffs, the Labour Party said in a statement.

In reply to another by the Nationalist Party, the PL said that the interest generated in the project is an indication of the government’s commitment to carry out its election mandate.

The PN statement is proof that the PN cannot be taken seriously. It would have been better for the PN, when it was in government, to fulfil the decision it had taken to go for a gas-operated plant.

It is hypocritical for a party that, when in government, had spent €200 million on a power station that operates on heavy fuel oil to criticise the government for continuing HFO use until the new plant is ready.
