Promoting greener travel: encouraging bus use

Malta Independent Tuesday, 9 July 2013, 12:27 Last update: about 11 years ago

As part of the Green Travel Plan (GTP), the Institute for Sustainable Development at the University of Malta (UoM) in collaboration with Arriva Malta is sponsoring a free one-week saver card to newly recruited academic and administrative staff of the University.

Raphael Mizzi, the GTP Coordinator at the University, distributed the Arriva Saver Cards and provided route information to the staff.

The University's goal is to encourage and support sustainable mobility through the promotion of alternative modes of transport, in this case the bus, thereby decreasing the number of private car trips to and from the University, contributing to better air quality for staff and students around the Msida Campus and reducing the need for parking infrastructure through better demand management.
