Today is hottest day of the year

Malta Independent Monday, 29 July 2013, 17:56 Last update: about 11 years ago

Today has been recorded as the hottest day this year, with most parts of the islands basking in 34 to 37 degrees sunshine, Qormi being one of today’s hotspots where the thermometer reached 35.6 degrees, according to maltaweather.com's Facebook page.

“Today was the hottest day of the year with a high ranging from 33°C to 37°C but cooler weather is expected as from tomorrow. However, the good news is that temperatures should be a bit lower tomorrow Tuesday with a high of ‘only’ 34°C due to the moderate Force 5 northnorthwesterly winds expected."
According to maltaweather, temperatures will then drop to a more comfortable 31°C to 32°C as from Wednesday due to a relatively cool pool of air penetrating the central Mediterranean.

“However, this relatively cool spell could be short-lived as it seems that temperatures will shoot up again next week.”
