In July, industrial production went down by 6.7% to 100.9 points. This was mainly due to decreases of 12.6 and 7.2% in the production of intermediate goods and consumer goods respectively.

On the other hand, the production of energy and capital goods went up by 1.4 and 2.4% respectively.

Annual comparison

When compared to the corresponding month last year, the index of industrial production declined by 7.7%.

The production of intermediate goods, consumer goods and energy went down by 18.2, 9.4 and 3.6% respectively. On the other hand, the production of capital goods went up by 23.5 per cent
