The annual Bicycle Ride in aid of l-Istrina will be held on 27 October.

This is the 4th edition of this event and, as in previous years will be seen off by President George Abela.

Registration starts at 0830hrs with send off from the San Anton Palace Courtyard at 0900hrs. 

The cyclists will then proceed along flat terrain to The Palace in Valletta.   Following a short break for water distribution within the Palace ‘Neptune courtyard’, the cyclists will proceed back to San Anton Gardens, Attard.

Last year the L-Istrina Bicycle ride was honoured with the distinguished presence, among the participants, of the U.S. Ambassador Gina Abercrombie-Winstanley, who along with her husband completed the course along with more than 400 other cyclists which included experienced members from a number of local cycling clubs, dedicated cycling individuals as well as various groups of whole family cycling enthusiasts.

The 17km route is mainly flat and will be escorted by the Malta Police, the Mosta Cycling Club team lead and backup cars, as well as by representatives of the St. John's Ambulance and Malta Red Cross.

This event, that launches the activities of the Malta Community Chest Fund Sports mill-Qalb campaign, is supported by a number of local companies and local councils.  All proceeds from this activity will be in aid of the Malta Community Chest Fund L-Istrina - Sports mill-Qalb Campaign 2013.
