Hundreds without Melita email service; technical issues now resolved

Hundreds of customers have ended up without their email service provided by Melita after what has been reported as a massive fault which is causing great inconvenience.

Customers who have contacted the company’s customer service are being told that the company is working to carry out the necessary repairs.

But customers who contacted this portal have complained that this “interruption” has been going on for hours. They have also complained that it is incredibly difficult to get through to the customer service system at the company, and many have given up trying.

Melita issued a statement Thursday morning to explain what happened.

"With reference to the article “Hundreds without Melita email service” Melita would like to advise its customers that email service has been fully restored.

A number of email customers experienced an intermittent fault which prevented them from accessing their email account. Melita apologises for any inconvenience caused and would like to reassure its customers that its technical team identified and fixed the cause immediately. The service took a few more hours to get back to normal as the affected hardware had to go through a gradual restore process to achieve full capacity."
