Birkirkara Hill was this morning closed off to traffic at around 8.30am because of police activity.

Three police cars blocked the road for a few minutes and stopped a man to speak to him. Residents said that there was some commotion while the officers talked to the man.

A police spokesperson would not divulge any details and said that the police force does not comment on ongoing investigations. 

It later turned out that it was a case of a mistaken identity.
