PN MP supports Bundy

Malta Independent Saturday, 7 June 2014, 14:49 Last update: about 11 years ago

PN MP and spokesperson for home affairs Jason Azzopardi released a public declaration of support for John Bundy on Facebook earlier today.

“Now you will know who has been manipulating facts and who isn’t afraid to tell the truth. We need more people like John,” the PN MP said.

The statement saw Dr Azzopardi share Mr Bundy’s own Facebook message which questioned Silvio Scerri’s reputation and challenged him to file another libel suit.

Earlier this week, Home Affairs Ministry’s chief of staff Silvio Scerri filed a libel suit against media personality John Bundy for alleged false allegations made in a local newspaper.

Mr Bundy’s comments to the media came after the testimony given by former television presenter Norman Vella in the Employment Commission. Mr Vella testified that Mr Bundy told him he had overheard Mr Scerri say that he (Scerri) wanted Mr Vella out of PBS, a claim that Mr Bundy confirmed to The Malta Independent, but which was denied by Mr Scerri.

John Bundy began his career in the 70s on radio 101. He later joined Radju Maria in 1986 as a disk Jockey before making the transition into television, where in the 90s he hosted a number of programmes on TVM, Smash TV and Net TV. 2009 saw Mr Bundy host his first show on One TV, where he remained until 2013 where he hosted a show on TVM called Ma’Bundy.  He currently hosts a TV programme called Affari Taghna on One TV.
