Italian film to be shot in Malta: ministry

Malta is set to benefit from funds generated from Andron, an Italian film to be shot in Malta, Ramona Attard, spokesperson for the ministry responsible for the film industry, told The Malta Independent online.

The film will also include the participation of Maltese companies.

The news came about during a visit made by the minister responsible, Manuel Mallia, his chief of staff Silvio Scerri and the Film Commissioner Engelbert Grech, to CineCitta in Italy.

The Maltese delegation, currently in Italy, met with Giuseppe Basso and Cristina Giubetti who are officials of CineCitta. CineCitta boasts of the biggest soundstage in Europe.

The minister is to attend an activity in CineCitta this evening. Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi is also expected to attend the event.

Another film to be shot on our islands, this time in Gozo, will feature the likes of actor Brad Pitt and actress Angelina Jolie.
