The Dingli Cliffs promenade project has been completed, Transport Minister Joe Mizzi announced this morning. The project was undertaken by the Transport Ministry and was financed by the EU.
A two-kilometre long pavement was built along the cliffs and the road was widened in certain parts. The pavement is accessible for persons with disabilities. Mr Mizzi said the project did not harm the environment, which is a protected conservation area.
The Transport Minister said another public project, this time in the south of Malta, will be announced in the coming weeks and a number of projects will be completed by the summer’s end. These include the Cospicua project, the new Parliament and Fort St Elmo.
Parliamentary Secretary for EU Funds Ian Borg said the EU’s Rural Development Fund is helping expose rural areas and making them more accessible.
Dr Borg said leftover funds are being allocated to improve roads in rural villages.
