Fellaini could be on his way to Napoli

Manchester United outcast Marouane Fellaini could be heading for the Old Trafford exit after holding talks with Napoli chief Riccardo Bigon.

Italian reports claim Bigon flew to Brussels to meet with the player and his agent to discuss a possible loan switch.

It is no secret that Fellaini has had difficulty in acclimatising to the weight and expectation of representing Manchester United.

And many Red Devils fans would be willing to let the 26-year-old leave for a fraction of the £27m paid for him by David Moyes.

The arrival of Ander Herrera could signal the end of Fellaini's short Manchester career, especially if reports that Louis Van Gaal described him as "not a United type of player" hold merit.

Some have defended Fellaini's performances last season, citing that he was played out of position and was no worse than Michael Carrick, Tom Cleverley, Darren Fletcher and Anderson.
