Malta Independent Tuesday, 29 July 2014, 12:52 Last update: about 11 years ago

PN Deputy Leader Beppe Fenech Adami is back in the UK to receive medical treatment.

He will remain in the UK for 24 hours, after he was diagnosed with a 15cm malignant tumour in his right shoulder blade.

Dr Fenech Adami started to suspect something was wrong when he began to experience pain in his back. He began to undergo treatment for the pain, however when this failed he was asked to undergo an MRI scan.

Following the results, he was asked to urgently undergo a second scan, which confirmed the tumour. He went to the UK to speak with specialists.

This will be the second time Dr Fenech Adami has been in the UK for treatment, after he arrived back in Malta on July 24. CT scans taken earlier in July found that the cancer had not spread and was contained.
