A man was pulled out of a trailer after it smashed into a barrier and overturned in Garibaldi Street, Marsa this morning.

The driver was rushed to hospital. In a statement that has just been issued, the police said the man, 43 from San Gwann, is very grievously hurt and in danger of losing his life.

It would seem the driver lost control of his vehicle which smashed into the barrier. The container got unhooked in the impact and in turn smashed into a low wall.

As a consequence of this accident, Garibaldi Road was closed off. 

A magisterial inquiry is being held.
