A case regarding a fight in 2009 during a feast resulted in the victim chipping his tooth, and has now been concluded.
Ryan Dimech, 35, from St Paul’s Bay, was charged with disturbing the peace and causing grievous injury to another person.
The Court heard that Ryan Dimech was attending the St Helen’s feast in Birkirkara. The victim passed in front of Mr Dimech, who subsequently punched him in the face. A few of the victim’s teeth were chipped.
The Court found Mr Dimech guilty of the charges, and he was given three-years’ probation, in addition to paying €500 compensation to the victim.
Magistrate Scerri Herrera felt the need to keep the victim away from a life of crime, which is why she placed him under probation, after noticing that he hadn’t committed a crime since 2004.
