Man on bail for attempted murder killed in Fgura shooting

A man who was released on bail two weeks ago was shot dead in Triq Mahatma Gandhi, Fgura, the police said.

The man, Jonathan Pace, 31, owner of Tyson Butcher, had been accused of attempting to kill Vince Muscat, known as il-Kohhu in Msida earlier this year. He was released on bail on 8 August.

Pace, of Gudja, was in the balcony of a residence at 9.20pm when the shooting happened. He was hit in the head and in the back and died later inn hospital, the police said.

Several police units and medical teams are on site.

A car was found burnt in Fgura some time later and the police are looking into the possibility that it could be linked with the shooting.
