A sewage overflow has occurred in Mosta Road, Lija, this afternoon, causing significant traffic jams in the area as urgent repairs are taking place.

The police have confirmed that the road’s Birkirkara-bound lanes have been closed to traffic to enable these repairs to take place.

The closure of an arterial road has caused significant traffic jams in the vicinity, particularly in the Mosta-bound lane and in Labour Avenue, Naxxar, which leads to the road.
