Hot and steamy honeymoon shooting for Brangelina

After their surprise – and secret – wedding yesterday week, Hollywood power couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s honeymoon in Malta will be even hotter and steamier than most, with the pair reportedly planning some “crazy sex scenes” for Down by the Sea, which they will begin shooting in Gozo’s Mgarr ix-Xini Bay.

According to American magazine Us Weekly, the new film will see Brad and Angelina act out some steamy scenes just a short walk from where their family is staying. The magazine quotes an on-site source as saying that the newlywed couple are planning some “crazy sex scenes”.

Angelina arrived in Malta on Wednesday and Brad is expected to touch down in Malta this weekend.

Ms Jolie reportedly took a helicopter tour of the three main Maltese islands and then dined at Ta’ Frenc in Gozo, where she and Brad had previously enjoyed a romantic dinner during a trip to Gozo. It was also reported that the couple are planning to shoot scenes in the restaurant, particularly in the underground wine cellar.

The film, which has been described by Angelina as “an intimate, character-driven” drama, will reportedly be far from family-friendly. Pitt and Jolie play a married couple in the south of France who become sexually obsessed with their neighbours.

One of the neighbours is reportedly being played by French actress Mélanie Laurent, who co-starred with Brad in 2009’s Inglourious Basterds.

“I wrote something a few years ago for Brad and me,” Angelina told People magazine back in May. “Just for fun; just an independent little art piece, because we don’t get to do those as much as we’d like. But it’s something really small and experimental.”

On Thursday, a spokeswoman for the couple confirmed that they had wed on Saturday in a private ceremony in the small chapel at Chateau Miraval, a sprawling estate in the hamlet of Correns, in Provence, that has been their Southern France home since 2008.

The union was less a vow of commitment than the official affirmation of one made long ago. Pitt and Jolie have been together nearly a decade and have six children, all of whom participated in the wedding.

Pitt once said that he did not want to marry until gay marriage was legal everywhere, but in recent years, the couple had said publicly they intended to. They were engaged in early 2012 after some seven years together.

“It’s an exciting prospect, even though for us, we’ve gone further than that,” Pitt told the AP in an interview in November 2012. “But to concretise it in that way, it actually means more to me than I thought it would. It means a lot to our kids.”

This is the second marriage for Pitt, who wed Jennifer Aniston in 2000. They divorced in 2005.

Jolie was previously married to British actor Jonny Lee Miller for three years in the late 1990s and to Billy Bob Thornton for three years before divorcing in 2003. Jolie has said she and Pitt fell in love while making the 2005 film Mr & Mrs Smith.
