The Duchess of Cambridge would have had an ambulance with her all through her visit to Malta – if she had come, international media report.

Kate Middleton was so keen to attend her planned engagement in Malta that she asked for an ambulance to accompany her wherever she went, Yahoo Entertainment reports.

She remained committed to her trip until it was no longer possible to postpone a decision on the confirmation of the visit – and it was decided that she could not make the trip.  Her severe morning sickness - she is pregnant with the couple's second child - prevented her from travelling.

Instead, her husband Prince William will come over for Malta’s 50th anniversary of Independence celebrations.
