A 22-year-old man from Birzebbugia admitted in court this morning to injuring the mother of his two children after an argument in which he broke down a door.

The court heard how the incident took place when Wayne Borg went to pick his children up during visiting hours. An argument broke out with his former girlfriend, Roxanne Schiavone. The woman eventually ran to her friend’s house for protection but the accused went over to her house and broke the door down and demanded to talk to his former partner and to see his children.

The court also heard how the accused assaulted two police officers that were called in to calm down the situation.

Magistrate Antonio Vella conditionally discharged the man for two years. He also issued a protection order for his former girlfriend and her friend. The accused paid €270 in damage he had caused to the door. Inspector Kevin Pulis prosecuted.
