A 70-year-old man admitted in court today to punching in a bus windscreen after almost getting run over. Giorgio Magri, from Marsa, was handed a two-year conditional discharge by Magistrate Antonio Vella after pleading guilty.
The court heard how the man was crossing the road near his Marsa home when the bus nearly ran him over. Mr Magri then punched the bus windscreen, causing some €430 in damages. Defence lawyer Maxilene Pace said the man had “understandably had a massive fright from the near miss and reacted angrily.”
Mr Galea apologised in front of Magistrate Antonio Vella and paid for the damages in court.
