A car in which former Education Minister Dolores Cristina was a passenger was involved in a traffic accident with a horse-driven cab in Floriana this morning.

The accident happened at around 11.15am when the car being driven by Mrs Cristina’s daughter was hit by another vehicle and was thrown onto the backside of the cab, which ended up hitting a tree.

Witnesses told The Malta Independent that the same car also hit a van belonging to Nexos Lighting.

The cabby suffered slight injuries but no other people were hurt. In the car with Mrs Cristina there were two four-year-old children.

The horse was also unhurt.
