A number of people interviewed by this newsroom who happened to be in the vicinity, or specifically flocked to yesterday’s events in Vittoriosa attended by Prince William, said that the prince resembles both his late mother, Princess Diana and his father Prince Charles while others said that he had the characteristics of his mother only.

One of the persons interviewed, a Maltese man who resided in the UK practically all his life, claimed to have been Lord Louis Mountbatten’s chauffeur (Mountbatten is the Queen’s cousin). He said that two weeks before Lord Mountbatten was assassinated, Lord Mountbatten had told him “we need to talk about Malta”. However, this conversation never came up again due to the fact that Lord Mountbatten was killed in a bomb blast while on his boat, Shadow V, while on holiday in Ireland.

An Australian woman said that she planned her Malta visit as soon as she learnt that the Duchess of Cambridge would be visiting Malta, however she said she wasn’t disappointed to find out that Prince William was coming over to Malta instead.
