A 23-year-old Norwegian resident at Qormi is fighting for his life after falling off a balcony, the police said this afternoon.

The accident happened at around 8.30am in St Edward Street. The young man was found on the pavement. An ambulance was called and he was taken to hospital where he was found to be in critical condition.

Magistrate C Galea ordered an inquiry.
