Bank of Valletta has extended its support to the local band Airport Impressions. Airport Impressions is no new name and is without doubt one of the most successful local bands to have emerged on the local artistic scene in recent years. The band started out as a duo in 2008 and is today composed of lead singer Errol Sammut, Johann Schembri, Chris Curmi and Steve Farrugia. They have successfully launched two albums, Minutes of a Lifetime recently followed by Mariette. The latest achievement of the band is their award-winning song, Berlin, which placed first in the Adult Album Alternative category out of nearly 8,000 entries received from 100 countries. Thanking the bank for its support, the band's lead singer Errol Sammut explained the importance for local talent to find the necessary support when seeking to establish a name on the musical scene. "It really gives you a boost when an entity like Bank of Valletta believes in your talents sufficiently to provide you with its support." Congratulating Airport Impressions for its success and auguring it well for the future, Kenneth Micallef, head CEO's Office at Bank of Valletta said: "Bank of Valletta takes its responsibilty as the local patron of arts and culture very much to heart and believes strongly that it has an important role to play in this respect.
