A 54-year-old man found in a field in Qrendi is suffering serious injuries and is in danger of losing his life, police have said.

The man was brought to hospital at around 1.15am last night and was found in a field near Byzantine Street.

The man was found by two women, his daughter and his son's girlfriend, who quickly called for help. Investigations are ongoing, while the on-duty Magistrate has been informed.

The circumstances of the case are still being established by the police.
