A Danish woman is in critical condition after an accident in Great Siege Road, Valletta, late on Monday.

The police said that at 11.15pm a Mercedes Benz and a motorbike were involved in an accident on the sea-side of the road.

The bike was being ridden on its way to Floriana by a Danish rider who had a Danish woman riding pillion. The woman suffered grievous injuries and is reported to be in critical condition.

The driver of the car was unhurt.
