Flu jab will be available for free from all Government Health Centres between 3 and 22 November

The Seasonal Influenza Vaccine will be available from all Government Health Centres between Monday 3rd November and Saturday 22nd November, both days included. Most local councils and a number of family doctors are also participating in the vaccination campaign. The following groups of persons can receive the vaccine free of charge:

 •         All persons aged 55 years and over,

  • Children between 6 months and 59 months of age
  • Persons of any age suffering from chronic diseases of the lungs, heart, liver, kidney; diabetes mellitus, and any immunodeficiency conditions, including HIV and AIDS.

 In the case of persons below 55 yrs of age, evidence of one of the above conditions needs to be confirmed by presenting a Schedule V Control Card or a recent medical certificate.

 Those persons over 55 years of age who have already registered with their local councils or their family doctor should wait for notice from the respective council or doctor and are not to go to the Health Centre.

Carers of persons who are bedbound and unable to leave their home are to call at MMDNA office on 21387526 from Monday to Saturday: 11.00- 12.30 pm and 14.00 to 15.30 hrs so that vaccination can be given at home by MMDNA nurses.

Vaccination from Health Centres will take place Monday to Saturday 10am - noon. There will be afternoon sessions at Mosta, Floriana and Paola Health Centres from 1pm - 7pm Monday to Saturday.

Identity Card has to be shown and in the case of children, the immunisation record book/card must be shown.
