The PN's first general convention, open to members of the party, NGO representatives and anyone interested in participating in the discussions, is to be held between this Friday and Sunday, secretary general Chris Said announced today.
Speaking during a news conference held at the party's headquarters, flanked by PN MP Paula Mifsud Bonnici (she chaired the working group leading to the general convention event), and Rosette Thake, Dr Said highlighted that following a number of changes to the party's statute, the PN was now organising a general convention in line with the party's changes.
He said that the convention was a request made by their leader, Simon Busuttil.
The focus of the meetings will be political parties and what they should offer for a better future. The theme of this year's discussion will be Idea Malta. The convention will become an annual party event.
Dr Said pointed out that the party will open its doors wide in a bid hear out suggestions so that Pn policies can be enhanced or changed in the future.
Those present will look back at Malta's achievements of the last fifty years while also looking ahead.
The event is to be held at the Corinthia San Gorg Hotel in St Julian's.
