Prime Minister Joseph Muscat will today fly to Paris on his way to the European Council in Brussels.

Before each European Council, the heads of government meet in their respective political groups.

The PES meeting was to have been held at The Square, a modern building in the centre of Brussels. However, yesterday the PES summit was hurriedly shifted to the Elysee, the presidential palace in Paris.

From there, the Socialist leaders will travel to Brussels where the European Council is due to begin meeting in early afternoon.
