A second Danish woman is fighting for her life after she was injured in a freak accident in St Paul's Bay on Tuesday evening.

On Monday, a Danish woman was seriously hurt when the motorbike she was riding crashed into a taxi on the outskirts of Valletta.

The police said that on Tuesday, a woman who was being carried by a man fell off and suffered serious injuries. Both are 44 years of age.

The woman was taken to hospital where she was certified to be in critical condition.

Magistrate Giovanni Grixti ordered an inquiry.
