The European Commission is still evaluating the government's financial plan for 2015, the EC has told The Malta Independent.

To a specific question by this portal, the commission's spokesperson for Economic and Monetary Affairs Simon O'Connor said that the "Commission is still in the process of assessing the information communicated to us by certain member states since the weekend concerning their draft budgetary plans. We welcome the fact that member states have engaged in a constructive dialogue with the Commission on these issues."

Malta was asked by the commission to clarify certain issues after a draft presentation of the government's financial plan was put forward.

The government is expected to present the budget on 17 November.
