Family event at the President’s Kitchen Garden at San Anton in aid of L-Istrina

Wednesday, 29 October 2014, 08:27 Last update: about 10 years ago

A family event is being organised at the President's Kitchen Garden on Tuesday 4 November, as part of the L-Istrina BOV Piggy Bank Campaign.  Piggy Banks are getting ready to make their way there to meet children in a fun-packed morning, which is also aimed to raise awareness about solidarity, whilst raising more funds for this year's L-Istrina Campaign.

Organised by the Office of the President in collaboration with Bank of Valletta, this event has several activities lined up, targeting children of all ages. Face-painting, balloon-shaping and animal rides are among the activities awaiting children visiting the Kitchen Garden on Tuesday. In addition there is going to be a colouring corner for the creative tots, along with scheduled tours of the Garden. This event will also be promoting education through the participation of Aqra Mieghi/Read with Me as part of the National Literacy Programme driven by the Ministry for Education and Employment. Toddlers and very young children along with their parents or carers will be able to join reading sessions aimed at re-introducing the love for books in Maltese families. Re-enactments organised by Fondazzjoni Wirt Artna will open a small time window on important episodes from our past whilst Toi Toi will be presenting their newly introduced PIKuZI acts.

Volunteers from the Malta Community Chest Fund as well as BOV Staff Volunteers will be present throughout the day to ensure the smooth-running of the event, and help participants make the most of the day.

The activity will be held at the President's Kitchen Garden between 10.30am and 2pm. All donations collected on the day will be going towards L-Istrina 2014.
