PN neglected party Financing Bill for years, now wants people to pay for its incompetence - PL

Thursday, 30 October 2014, 10:47 Last update: about 10 years ago

The Nationalist Party had left the Party Financing Bill on the shelf for many years, The Labour Party has said.

“Opposition Leader Simon Busuttil is saying that this Bill should be implemented. What he wants is for the people to pay for the PN’s incompetence,” the Labour Party added.

"The Labour government, from the beginning, has spoken about this law's importance. Until today, the Nationalist Party has a problem placing their finances under public scrutiny, while the Labour Party, aside from being in government and proposing the law, has published its finances for a long time," the Labour Party said.

"The government led by Prime Minister Joseph Muscat wants to seriously include more transparency through this law".
