A 17-year-old Somali man fled to Denmark using a fake passport, a court heard today.
The youth, who resides in Fgura, was charged with giving incorrect information to immigration officials.
He was stopped on arrival in Denmark when immigration officers noticed that the passport he was carrying was fake. A finger print search revealed that the boy was a migrant registered in Malta. He does not have refugee status.
Magistrate Francesco Depasquale found the youth guity of the crime and handed down a six-month jail sentence suspended for two years.
