Friday, 31 October 2014, 18:06 Last update: about 10 years ago

The police said this evening that allegations made by the newspaper In-Nazzjon over the past days that police officers were allegedly being bribed in connection with the exploitation of Asian workers employed at Leisure Clothing in Bulebel were being taken seriously.

In a statement, Acting Police Commissioner Raymond G. Zammit said that an investigation has been launched to establish the facts.

He said that he will not be tolerating any behaviour that could throw a bad light on the police force.

He appealed for any information to be passed on to the police, even confidentially.
