Air Malta's new CEO Philip Micallef enjoys a financial package "in the area" of €125,000.

"I basically have a package which you know is about...a quarter I would say of what Mr Peter Davies used to earn," he says in an interview to be published tomorrow in The Malta Independent on Sunday.  

Mr Davies courted controversy under the previous administration for his €500,000 salary package at a time when the airline was entering the first year of a tough five year restructuring plan.
