On 22 October, Mr Anthony Miceli Demajo presented his Letters of Credence to His Serene Highness Prince Albert II as Malta's non-resident Ambassador to the Principality of Monaco. The ceremony took place at the Royal Palace of Monaco.

At the meeting which followed, the Prince and the Ambassador exchanged views on a series of topics of mutual interest including ways to further consolidate business and economic ties as well as to develop cooperation in the field of environment.

On his part, Ambassador Anthony Miceli Demajo conveyed the greetings of Her Excellency the President of the Republic of Malta to Prince Albert II as well as his keenness to further develop ties between Malta and the Principality.

During his stay the Ambassador, who was accompanied by Mr John Buttigieg, First Secretary at the Department European Affairs, held meetings with senior officials at the Department of Foreign Affairs of Monaco, at the Monaco Chamber of Economic Development, at the Association of Honorary Consuls, at the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation as well as at the International Hydrological Organization which is based in Monaco.

A common feature that emerged therein was the strong bond of friendship that exists between the two countries as well as the appreciation of the Monegasque authorities for Malta's continued support to Monaco's endeavours to deepen its relations with the European Union.
