Amber will represent Malta at next May’s Eurovision Song Contest; PN and PL offer congratulations

Amber, with her song Warrior, was the decisive winner of last night's Malta Eurovision Song Contest after garnering the maximum 12 points from the public and from each and every jury member. She will be representing Malta at next May's Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna. The song is written by Matthew (Muxu) Mercieca and composed by Elton Zarb. Special guest was the winner of the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest, Conchita Wurst, who opened the show with Rise Like A Phoenix, and later on performed the song Heroes. Also making a guest appearance were Firelight, who were Malta's representatives earlier this year in Copenhagen, they performed several songs, including Coming Home.

Christabelle is runner up with the song Rush written by Matt (Muxu Mercieca) and composed by Elton Zarb, whilst Glen Vella’s Breakaway written and composed by Kevin Borg and Simon Gribbe placed third.

The show was presented by Daniel Chircop and Lyona Xuereb Gatt. The winning song was determined by the votes of five judges and televoting. All the jurors awarded their maximum points to Amber, The televoters favoured also favoured Warrior . The two main political parties issues statements on Sunday morning to congratulate the singer and to offer the encouragement for Malta's participation in the Eurovision Song Contest.
