Tourism Minister Edward Zammit Lewis said today in parliament that the Malta Tourism Authority website is to be upgraded and is to cater for Turkish and Chinese tourists as well.

He added that the islands are to host three information hubs for tourists while beach goers are expected to get free Wi-Fi as well.

'Tourism ministry's customer care unit caters for everyone; not just restricted to 8th district'

Dr Zammit Lewis clarified in parliament that his ministry's customer care unit caters for both locals and foreigners alike, and not just simply deals with issues pertaining to the eighth district, the district contested by the minister during the last general election.

He was asked by PN MP Claudette Buttigieg to give an explanation of how the unit operates and who it caters for. All ministries are understood to have a customer care unit within the ministry. Ms Buttigieg asked a number of ministers how many cases their customer care unit's cater for and the nature of cases dealt with and how many are engaged with the unit.
