The marathon budget sessions in Parliament have started and, perhaps, even MPs taking part in the debate need some fun which stops them from nodding off during lengthy sittings.
This morning, there was one moment of hilarity in the House, when Deputy Speaker and Nationalist MP Censu Galea jokingly told Parliamentary Secretary Justyne Caruana that MPs should have zumba classes in Parliament.
The Parliamentary Secretary was talking about centres for the elderly, saying that they shouldn’t just be a place for tombola. She said that “We have transformed elderly centres into learning hubs, with IT technology, physical activities such as, aerobics and zumba.”
This sparked an impromptu comment from Mr Galea, who remarked that MPs should have their own classes in zumba, resulting in quite a few giggles in the House.
Well, it would do them - and all of us - some good if we exercise for half an hour each day.
