Thursday, 27 November 2014, 13:17 Last update: about 10 years ago

The price of a number of medicines has been reduced, Consumer Affairs Minister Helena Dalli announced today.

A medicines intelligence unit has also been established.

The unit will analyse medicine prices and compare them to the EU average.

Dr Dalli said a pilot project will begin with medicines being delivered to peoples’ homes, as promised by the Labour party in its election manifesto.

Chairman of the medicines authority Anthony Serracino Inglott said the authority will be checking that the reductions in prices filter down to pharmacies.
