The sixth edition of Bethlehem f'Għajnsielem will be launched on 6 December and will once again offer a unique experience and insight into the birth of Jesus Christ.

President Marie Louise Coleiro Preca will be inaugurating the launch of this event.

Preparations have been under way for months and the event is expected to attract thousands of people to Gozo.

This year the organising committee worked hand-in-hand with the Christmas committee setup by Gozo Minister Anton Refalo.

Over the past weeks, a number of volunteers together with employees at the Ghajnsielem local council and Gozo ministry have transformed the village into a living model of Bethlehem.

The main attractions in this Nativity village will include carpentry, a bakery, a  tavern and vegetable market, an artisan market as well as a number of other attractions.

For this year's edition, Fort Chambray will be transformed into a Roman village. One will also have the opportunity to get on a boat that will wind its way down the river.

This year will also see the return of a hotel which will have three rooms for rent, allowing one to experience life as it was thousands of years ago.

The highlight of the event is undoubtedly Jesus' crib, animated by over 150 actors.

Live animations at Bethlehem f'Għajnsielem will take place every Saturday, Sunday and on public holidays.

On 4 January, the three kings will undertake their pilgrimage to the crib.
