In a In a reaction to statement by the Opposition made on Friday, the government claimed today that the Opposition was basing its statement on a non-official website rather than basing its claims on official EU Commission data. The Commission figures put petrol at an average price of €1.45 and that for diesel at €1.32.

Fuel prices were at €1.09 and €1.02 respectively in March 2008 but they rose to €1.48 and €1.38 respectively by March 2013, thanks to the PN government's wrong decisions.

This means that a two-car family would be spending some €1,200 a year more where it now pays €100 less.
